Terms of Service

Welcome to Asten BaaS, a service operated by Asten Studios. By accessing or using our website, API services, SDK, and console, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account on Asten BaaS, you declare that you are of legal age or have the legal capacity to enter into a contract on behalf of yourself or a legal entity, and agree to faithfully comply with this agreement.

2. Service Description

Asten BaaS provides Backend-as-a-Service (BaaS) tools for game development, including cloud databases (Cloud Saves), Leaderboard services, player authentication, and player profiles. Asten Studios reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue service features to optimize performance and security.

3. Accounts and Registration

To use the console and service APIs, you must register and maintain an active account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials (passwords, JWT tokens, API keys). Any activity conducted through your account is your sole responsibility. Asten Studios will not be liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your API keys or credentials.

4. Plan and Free Service Conditions

Currently, Asten BaaS is offered free of charge under the Sandbox plan, subject to the usage limits published on our pricing page (API calls, storage, and number of projects). Asten Studios reserves the right to introduce additional paid plans in the future, which will be communicated in a timely manner. The introduction of paid plans will not retroactively affect the availability of the current free Sandbox plan.

5. Acceptable Use and Restrictions

You agree not to use the Asten BaaS APIs or SDKs for illegal, fraudulent activities, malware distribution, spamming, hacking, or any type of abuse that affects the stability of our servers. We reserve the right to immediately suspend any account that violates these guidelines or maliciously exceeds your plan's quota limits.

6. Intellectual Property and Data

The developer retains full ownership and intellectual property rights over their video game, source code, assets, and player data stored on the platform at all times. By using the service, you grant Asten Studios a limited, non-exclusive, and revocable license to host, process, and transmit such data for the sole purpose of providing the contracted service. Asten Studios will not use, sell, or share your players' data with third parties for purposes unrelated to service delivery.

7. Data Retention and Inactive Accounts

Asten Studios reserves the right to delete free accounts and their associated data (including Cloud Saves, player profiles, and Leaderboard records) after 6 months of continuous inactivity, defined as the total absence of API calls or console access. An email notification will be sent at least 30 days prior to deletion, giving the user an opportunity to reactivate their account.

8. Limitation of Liability

Asten BaaS is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Asten Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages (including loss of profits, business interruption, or loss of player data) arising from service failures.

9. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Colombia. Any controversy or dispute arising in connection with the use of the service shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Soacha, Cundinamarca, the parties waiving any other jurisdiction that may correspond to them.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. The last updated date at the top of the document will reflect the current version. Continued use of the service following a modification constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
